Great British Welcome

A Great British Welcome tells the story of how communities across the UK welcome people who have been forced to flee their homes.

Stories are told by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and photographed by Andrew Testa.
Whether singing in Greenwich, bouldering in Liverpool, cooking in Cardiff, or in many other ordinary and extraordinary ways, A Great British Welcome reveals how British communities and the refugees and asylum-seekers they host can thrive together.

“The stories in this exhibition are truly inspiring. People across the UK have generously welcomed refugees and asylum-seekers and are helping them to rebuild their lives in a new home, through integration and friendship. The mutual benefit of supporting and empowering refugees who are in turn contributing their talent, creativity and skills, is evident.”

Vicky Tennant, UNHCR Representative to the UK
