Letter to The Sun: Regarding the article “Why didn’t Reid deport these criminals at once?”

Dear Mr Gaunt, Having read your column “Why didn’t Reid deport these criminals at once?”, I am troubled by the use of terminology in relation to asylum seekers. Unsuccessful asylum claimants cannot be called “bogus asylum seekers” or “illegals”.

Letter to The Sun: Regarding the article “Illegal begs to be kicked out”

Dear Ms Hagan, Having read your article “Illegal begs to be kicked out”, I am troubled that you would misrepresent asylum seeking, as there is no such thing as an “illegal asylum seeker”. It cannot be illegal to seek asylum as it is a fundamental human right under international law.
