Giving is Winning

As an official partner of the International Olympic Committee and for the London 2012 Games will be running the Giving is Winning programme, collecting unused sportswear from Olympic athletes to be distributed to refugee camps around the world.

Sport has the power to generate hope and joy among people, and with over 30 million refugees and internally displaced people in the world, every item counts! In all, 75,000 items of clothing were collected in the framework of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and you can help us to make it to 100,000 this time!

Get Involved!

UNHCR is looking for volunteers to help sort and pack the clothing in Thurrock, Essex for six days in August 2012.

If you would like to contribute your time to help refugees benefit from the London Olympics, then please email padoan@unhcr.org to express your interest.
